My Story

My path to the Seminary started as long ago as I can remember. I am the youngest of seven in a good family. Since I was about 3, I heard God’s call to me. When I was 12 I went on a pilgrimage to Rome with the parishioners of St Patrick’s, my mom, and Fr Vetter. Obviously this was an incredible experience to see the Church in all her glory.

Throughout my Catholic education I felt “The Call” but in various strengths. I began dating. Then, in the midst of my relationship I visited my pastor, Fr Vetter, and he guided me to follow the call into the seminary. Seminary has revealed many unexpected things to me, of which the greatest grace has been that celibacy is not a cross to bear so much as a gift from God that has made me happier than I ever could have tried to make myself. The power of prayer I have learned in the past few years has made my daily prayer time with a God who is near the primary part of each day.
