My Story

Thoughts of the Priesthood dwelled within me at an early age.  I admired Father Tom Richter and Father Wayne Sattler throughout my early grade school years.  The desire to enter the Priesthood left me by about the fourth grade and attending seminary was the furthest thing from my mind.

I began to have a real interest in my faith my freshmen year of high school.  I was surrounded by many witnesses to the Catholic faith.  The more I learned about the Church, the more curious I was about her teachings.  I began to look forward to my religion class more than any of my other classes.  It became a fifty minute retreat for me.  Thoughts of the Priesthood came and went throughout high school, but I knew I was called to be a priest my sophomore year of high school when I had the most intimate prayer with God before the Blessed Sacrament  I had experienced in my life up until that time.  I felt overwhelming tugging at my heart from the Lord, but I was not ready to answer his call.  I tried to run from my vocation until my senior year of high school.  I embraced my call to seminary and gave the Lord full permission to work in me.  God has done unbelievable things for me in my life and much of that is because I stopped running from him and finally allowed him to show me his intense love for me.  I have never been more at peace since I decided to join the Seminary.  I am the happiest that I have ever been and I have immense feeling of joy and gratidude.
