My Story

Throughout high school, I was aware of a pull on my heart toward seminary and the priesthood. I tried to ignore it, but I could never completely push it away. I had many dreams for my future – none of them involved seminary or the priesthood.

I cared little about Christ and His Church until my senior year of high school, when I was introduced to philosophy and how it related to faith. As I was shown the great role of logic and reason in Catholicism by Fr. Josh Ehli, I began to place more trust in the Church. In doing so, I began to be drawn closer to the heart of Christ.

During the summer after I graduated, I was introduced to Eucharistic Adoration, and the call to seminary grew clearer. This continued as I started college, where I was welcomed into the strong Catholic community of the Newman Center at the University of North Dakota. My experience in this community aided my discernment, and encouraged by the example and direction of Fr. Joshua Ehli and Fr. Jason Lefor, I began the seminary application process.

As I have progressed along this path, I have come to recognize the constant role God has played throughout my life, leading me to seminary. I have begun to experience a deep sense of peace, and a renewed desire to continue to discern Jesus’ will for me. The road ahead is long, but I trust He will sustain me wherever His call leads me.
